Dr. Nimmatoori's entrepreneurial spirit was evident early in his career. Soon after completing his M.Tech. in 1989, he established Aurora’s Degree College. Over the years, he has expanded the Aurora Group into a major educational conglomerate, now encompassing a wide range of institutions that offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines. Under his leadership, the group educates over 15,000 students annually, employs 1,500 staff members, and boasts an annual turnover of Rs. 250 Crores. Aurora’s alumni network includes over 160,000 graduates, with more than 25,000 alumni based in the USA.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nimmatoori has introduced numerous innovative educational methods, contributing to Aurora's reputation as one of the country's top institutions. His commitment to student welfare began during his own student days, when he served as President of Zilla Parishad High School in Damera and Vice President of the College of Engineering at Osmania University. He was also active in the ABVP student organization and helped numerous underprivileged students through scholarships.

Dr. Nimmatoori has held several honorary positions, including Executive Member of the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh and Chairman of the Engineering College Managements Association of Andhra Pradesh. He has also been involved in various philanthropic activities, notably establishing the Seethaiah Memorial Trust, which provides free education to orphans and underprivileged students. Additionally, he has given free education to more than 200 children of Osmania University’s staff and initiated a scheme for free education for Home Guards and constables' children in Telangana.
