On January 31, 2025, the School of Commerce and Management ,hosted an expert talk on Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) for sophomore students of Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). Organized as part of their group activity assessment, the session aimed to provide practical insights into banking and financial management, with a special focus on the challenges posed by NPAs in the banking sector.
The talk was delivered by Mr. Paluri Srinivasa Rao Garu, Retired Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the State Bank of India (SBI). With an extensive 38-year career in banking, Mr. Rao has expertise in corporate finance, credit risk management, and audit functions. He has held key positions, including Circle Credit Officer (CCO) and DGM (Credit Audit), managing high-value corporate credit operations across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh.
The session provided students with real-world perspectives on banking operations, financial risk management, and the impact of NPAs on the economy, enriching their understanding of financial systems and industry practices.
