On 6th February 2025, the Department of AIML & Data Science, School of Engineering organized an Expert Talk on “Data Science – Microsoft Azure.” The session, held in the university's Seminar Hall, featured Mr. Chaitanya GVSM, a Senior Technical Trainer and Azure Data Engineer. He provided an in-depth understanding of data science, machine learning, and cloud computing, emphasizing their integration with Microsoft Azure. Mr. Chaitanya introduced fundamental concepts of data science and machine learning, explaining supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques. He also highlighted AI’s transformative role in automation and predictive analytics. The discussion then transitioned to cloud computing, covering its types—public, private, hybrid, and community clouds—and their significance in scalable data science applications.

The session focused on Microsoft Azure’s capabilities for data science, showcasing tools like Azure Machine Learning Studio, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and pre-built AI models. Mr. Chaitanya demonstrated a live machine learning project, guiding attendees through data preprocessing, model training, and cloud deployment for real-time predictions. His hands-on approach emphasized Azure’s efficiency in handling complex machine learning tasks. The event was highly engaging, with active participation from students and faculty. It successfully highlighted Azure’s role in enabling scalable AI solutions, leaving attendees with valuable insights into modern data science applications.
